GamaBuilt is a high-end residential general contractor and developer led by founder Edward Gama. The firm operates from offices in San Francisco, building across San Francisco and Marin since 2005.
The work is concentrated in three categories: design-build renovation of San Francisco's Victorian, Edwardian, and mid-century housing stock; ground-up modern construction on hillside parcels and wine-country sites; and architectural coordination for projects led by an outside design team.
Every project is carried under a single contract. Structural, mechanical, millwork, and finish report through one project manager from schematic design through final punch-list. The firm collaborates regularly with MAK Studio, Philip Mathews, and Smith & Architects, among others.

Edward Gama founded GamaBuilt in 2005 to do one thing: build the home the architect drew, without the homeowner becoming the integrator. He sits in design meetings from schematic onward, flagging constructability, cost, and timeline issues while there is still time to revise the drawings.
Edward and the project leads carry every engagement under a single accountability line. The firm is California licensed and fully insured, and works in close coordination with the architect of record and the interior design team across every project.
From the beginning the design was inspiring but the finished project is even more impressive and has been a dream to live in. For anyone looking for creativity, attention to detail and wonderful execution Eddie Gama should be at the top of your list.
A small number of clients each year. References from completed projects — alongside the architects of record — are available on request to homeowners and design teams considering the firm.
