Edward Gama, founder

Edward Gama was born and raised in San Francisco, and his interest in design showed up early. During a summer job at a grocery store, he became known for creating especially thoughtful product and holiday displays. His manager quickly recognized his eye for composition and detail and began giving him every display project in the store.

Eddie went on to build a career in technology, but renovating his own San Francisco home brought him back to the work he had always been drawn to. He became absorbed in the relationship between design and construction — how materials come together, how details are resolved, and how a home can feel cohesive when every decision is considered as part of the whole.

That experience eventually led him to residential construction. His technology background still influences the way he works: analytical, systems-minded, comfortable with complexity, and focused on clear communication.

His attention often goes to the details most people may never consciously notice — the alignment of materials, the proportions of a reveal, how a wall meets a window, the transition between finishes, or the way cabinetry, lighting, hardware, and architectural elements relate to one another. Individually, these decisions can seem small. Together, they create the sense that a home has been considered as a whole. You may not immediately know why a space feels special; you simply know that it does.

Having grown up in San Francisco and built throughout the city and Marin, Eddie also has a deep familiarity with the realities of Bay Area residential construction — from older homes and seismic requirements to hillside sites, complex foundations, and dense urban conditions.

He delivered on every front: our vision, our style, and a beautiful, modern, yet highly livable home. The result is truly our dream home — we can't recommend Eddie enough.

No detail was seemingly left unattended to. I can't recommend Gama Construction highly enough, and would seek no other option if designing a new home in the future.
