An original vintage Mill Valley house, restored and expanded around a quiet modern interior.
The street-facing character of the original home was carefully preserved. Behind it, the plan was opened around natural light, with a Zen-influenced material palette — light wood, plaster, restrained color — carrying through the principal rooms. New stair, custom millwork, and a reworked bath sequence pull the interior firmly into a contemporary register without disturbing the home's original presence on the lot.
